MOSTLY A
You are: The Pied Piper
Head to: Hamelin
Your boots are made for walking, and you’ll
find them following the sound of the Pied
Piper to his village, Hamelin. It’s one of
the brothers’ ‘grimmer’ tales, in which a
piper besotted the city’s rats, and later
its children, with the lilt of his enchanting
pipe. Likewise, this charming town draws
millions of fairytale lovers. Hamelin features
peculiar 16th-century Weser-Renaissance
architecture and the shops haven’t missed
a trick when it comes to referencing to the
fable: you can pick up rat shaped cookies
and clockwork figures at the Hochzeitshaus.

MOSTLY B
You are: Cinderella
Head to: Polle Castle, Polle
You old romantic! Daydreamers and
homebodies alike will want flock to
Cinderella’s magnificent castle – well, at
least, its ruins. Though not as intact as some
of the other fairytale castles in Germany
(
both Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Sababurg
and Rapunzel’s Tower in Trendelburg are
working hotels), this castle walls perch high
on a hill. Behind them, open-air renditions
of
Cinderella
are every third Sunday from
May to September at 2.15pm, and the
Castle Festival’s range of theatrics
are from June to August.
MOSTLY C
You are: Snow White
Head to: Siebengebirge
Vain? You? Certainly not! You’re much
more likely to appreciate the natural
beauty of your surroundings rather than
your own good looks. The national
park of Siebengebirge with its arresting
views and deep, verdant valleys is, quite
simply, spectacular, and an easy place
to hide from jealous stepmothers.
Consisting of 40 hills, its seven major
peaks (from which it gets its name)
inspired
Snow White and the Seven
Dwarfs
