Getting to the centre
Transfer from Lviv International
Airport to the city centre via regular
public transport (mini-bus and
trolleybus services), or take a cab –
city centre destinations should cost no
more than 100 hryvnia (€8).

Leopolitans are counting on Euro
2012 to further boost their growing
tourism trade. The city has seen huge
gains in tourist numbers over the
past five years. Expect to encounter a
savvy service sector keen to impress.
Eating out
Feeling a bit risqué?
Masoch Café
(7 Serbska Street, +380 (0)32 235
6872, masoch-cafe.com.ua) is
themed around 19th-century
Lviv deviant of note, Leopold von
Sacher-Masoch, whose erotic literary
output gave rise to the concept of
masochism. At
Kult
(7 Chaikovskoho
Street, +380 32 242 2242), get
acquainted with the legends of Lviv
past and present in this iconic and
cultish bunker venue. It will be
showing Euro 2012 matches, too.
City suggestion
Lviv’s narrow, cobblestone streets are
likely to become crowded during the
Euro 2012 high season – rise above
it all by trekking up to the viewing
platform
Vysoki Zamok
(Castle
Hill) which offers cool breezes and
sensational views of the Lviv skyline.
And finally…
Russian is the main language in
modern Ukraine, but in Lviv locals
will be delighted if visiting fans make
the effort to learn a few basic words.

Engine Oil. www.drafthouse.co.uk. In
Walthamstow Village,
Eat17

Bacon Jam relish
. www.eat17.co.uk
City suggestion
If the Jubilee flotilla has inspired you,
visit the
