Direct eye contact and a nice
smile make for a cute portrait,
as Tina found out from her
leaf-framed subject. While
trekking down the Jatiluwih
Terraces, she chanced upon a
group of boys picking berries
from a tree. Looking up, she
noticed this partly hidden kid
staring back at her. A quick
“
hello” broke the ice, resulting
in this smiley shot that evokes
many a childhood memory.
Jeng Cariaga
The Jatiluwih Terraces were a photographer’s playground
of patterns and lines. With her DSLR in hand, Jeng knew
exactly what to do the moment she stepped onto these
ricefields. This interesting arrangement of paddies drew her
attention and her 135mm lens. After composing tightly, all
she needed to do next was press the shutter button to capture
this postcard-pretty picture.
