July to supervise the training and
production for the collection, and
Stephen will join us along with a
number of other volunteers and friends.
We put up the project on Kickstarter
expecting to run an all-volunteer effort
for the summer that we hope would
gain momentum. After receiving more
than three times our funding goal and
numerous offers of help on many
fronts, we now see that Ricefield has
the potential to make a meaningful
difference much sooner than we
thought. We hope to set up virtual,
logistical, and physical infrastructures
in the US and the Philippines to prepare
for sustainable growth, and be able to
deliver on the promise of a fulfilling and
viable source of income for the people
of Ifugao.
It’s amazing to us how a project
that started out as an idea born in the
darkness of night can be brought to
light by the kindness and support of so
many people. As we continue on our
journey to build Ricefield Collective,
we feel much more energized and
encouraged knowing that so many
people have come to join us.
