GREAT FOOD, AND LOTS OF IT
Yardbird
accepts no reservations, and for good reason —
you either get there at 6pm or wait two hours for a table. It’s a hip new restaurant in SoHo that
specializes in Japanese yakitori fusion food. Tapeo
central)
,
on the other hand, is for tapas lovers — a small and intimate open-kitchen Spanish
resto where you can sit and chat with the chef while he’s shaving the leg of Iberico ham right in
front of you. Chicha
is for those who have never
tried Peruvian food. Bring a few friends over, as
their dishes are huge and meant for sharing.
Brickhouse
is a bit difficult to find — you have to go
through a really narrow street in Lan Kwai Fong to get there. But once you do, you’re going to
want to hang around. It’s a new Mexican place with dishes such as lengua soft tacos and chili-
infused chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.
Of course, we have to talk about Chinese food. Stop by Tim Ho Wan at the IFC Mall — their
dimsum is nothing short of amazing. It’s actually the cheapest Michelin-star resto in the city.

NOT YET SLEEPY?
Shops and malls close very late, so you can
get your last-minute shopping fix at H&M,
IFC Mall, and hundreds of small stalls and
shops that line the streets of Central. Lan
Kwai Fong is filled with people who are out
to party and have fun all throughout the
week.

MAKE A TOAST
If you want a drink, you can always go to Lan Kwai Fong, which is 10 minutes away on
foot or two to three minutes by cab. The area is lined with about a hundred drinking pubs
and clubs. Some have live bands as well. Up Dharma Down has played in Lan Kwai
Fong a few times already, drawing in scores of Pinoys who live here.
