Heading to the beach? We
offer ideas on the wardrobe
essentials to stock up on
beforehand
5
The bright side
Accessories can change your look
in an instant, taking casual daytime
beachwear and transforming it into a
poolside cocktail-ready number. Try this by
stacking as many brightly colored bracelets
as you like on both arms.
1
Floral frocks
Dresses work double time as
something simple for the main event or
casual beach cover-ups. They’re easy
to slip on, a cinch to wash and take up
minimal space when packing. Keep in mind
that floral prints are all abloom this season.
2
Stick to the basics
Never head to the beach without a
basic tank and pair of shorts. Instead of the
usual blue denim cut-offs and ubiquitous
white tee, add some cool pastels to your
palette. Try shorts in shades of green and
striped tanks.
3
Keep things in place
Bikinis are prone to wardrobe
malfunctions (many of those viral videos of
people losing their bikini tops after jumping
into the water are real) so pick those with
wider straps with which to make firmer,
more secure knots. Just for fun, opt for
pretty tropical prints.
4
One scarf,
three ways
Can you say versatile? Wrap it over your
head as a sun guard while out on the boat,
use it as a cover-up when lounging, or toss
it over your shoulders at night if there’s a
chill in the air.
