We couldn’t think of a better way to start the year than to just take
the plunge (take any level of meaning you like) — so we drove all the
way to Mabini, Batangas to check in on one of the country’s prime
diving spots. After two hours on thankfully improved highways, we
found ourselves in one of our favorite southern escapes, a sweet little
seaside spot called Lilom, which means “shade” in the local dialect.
There’s nothing like a quiet retreat from which to contemplate the
year ahead, and barefoot on our small grassy deck,
we could see that the future looks bright. We
can’t help but be excited about a lot of new
things coming up. For starters: can you say,
