SUITES WITH HISTORY
Singapore’s Mövenpick Heritage Hotel in
Sentosa recently opened its three-storey
Heritage Wing — a former World War II
barrack base that now houses 62 suites,
the Tablescape restaurant and WOW
(
World of Whiskeys) lounge. Highlights
of the restoration include colonial doors,
high ceilings and “link way” corridors; but
contemporary touches such as atmospheric
fans and natural wood finishes have been
added too.
PAPERLESS CHECK-IN
New World Hotels in Manila and Dalian,
China now offer an electronic signature
service for guests. Tablets are used for
faster check-in and check-out, as well as
immediate access to room reservations.
You can even have your bill and receipts
sent to your email address. Expect this
service at their hotels in Shanghai, Wuhan,
Ho Chi Minh City, Beijing and Guiyang
soon.

SPOILED FOR
CHOICE
The Makati landscape changes in
more ways than one as two new hotels
make their mark on the city’s skyline.
The official launch of Raffles Makati
and Fairmont Makati has introduced a
novel concept to the metro, where two
hotels in one property provide a choice
for business or leisure travelers. One
prominent 30-storey tower is home to
the modern 280-room Fairmont Makati,
the luxurious 32 all-suite Raffles
Makati, as well as the 237 Raffles
Residences.
The two hotels also share a host
of restaurants starting with the Café
Macaron, and The Long Bar (which,
like its namesake the Long Bar in the
Raffles Singapore, serves creative
liquid concoctions). The parlour-
like Writers Bar offers a respite
from the bustling city, and The
Fairmont Lounge is perfect for
afternoon tea and light meals.
