THANKS TO
the immense success of
his food and travel blog,
Our Awesome
Planet
, Anton Diaz has branched out to
become an Internet marketing educator to
other aspiring netpreneurs. Together with
a few friends who share his foodie side, he
also organizes Mercato Centrale, a food
and organic fest held every weekend at
Bonifacio Global City. Despite his hectic
schedule, he makes time for life’s small but
meaningful rituals. “We bring and pick up
the boys from school, then go on a food trip
at night. On some weekends, we go on a
road trip.” Anton pencils in an out-of-town
adventure every three weeks with his wife,
Rachelle, and three sons, who all make
sure to savor the local bites of every region.
While he’s traveled a lot locally, Anton
hopes to go on a pilgrimage to Israel and
San Antonio de Padua in Italy. When that
day comes, he’ll be taking his own travel
advice: “Be present and live the experience
like there’s no tomorrow.” And you can bet
his loving wife and boys will be along for
the ride.
WHEN IN ILOILO…
I never pass up a visit to Breakthrough Food, where I sup on the
local favorites.
ON A ROLL
I ordered this Batac Ilocos
empanada
in the market. A meal in itself!
AL FRESCO DINING
This is
my favorite outdoor dining place
— the Kubli Springs Experience at
Kinabuhayan Café.
