There is a free airport shuttle to
the Public Transportation Center in town. A taxi
costs THB200 (PHP265). In the city, use the
BTS Skytrains and avoid the jams.
Tuk-tuks

available but only for short distances.
BY DAY
Temple hop! Start at Wat Pragiew followed
by Wat Po, which is famous for its Thai therapy
massage. Close by is Pak Klong Market, the biggest
flower market in Thailand and an excellent place to
try fresh local fruit and vegetables.
BY NIGHT
Venture into Chinatown at around
5pm. Make sure to try the green and red seafood
restaurants along Texas Alley (the color refers to
the shirts worn by the waitstaff). T&K (green) and
Lek & Rut (red) usually get packed, so come early.
SLEEP
The Bangkok Loft Inn is near Wong
Wien Yai Market, and is a five-minute walk to
Wongwian Yai BTS Skytrain station.

downtown for about S$15 (PHP502), depending on
the time of day. Peak hours carry a S$3 (PHP100)
surcharge. Or take the MRT and you’ll be there in

Road. Hit the luxury and designer stores at
ION Orchard, Paragon, Mandarin Gallery and
Takashimaya. Also check out the newly opened
Gardens by the Bay.

For dinner, try Esquina along Jiak
Chuan Rd. for very good tapas, and celebrity
chef Guy Savoy’s French cuisine at Marina Bay
Sands. After dinner, enjoy cocktails at 1-Altitude or
Customs House at the Fullerton Heritage.
