For fun’s
sake
Juan style
FROM AUGUST
29
to September 1,
2012, 15
college kids were seen in six
Philippine destinations eating food
they’d never tasted before, camping
on hard ground to save on hotel bills,
and immersing themselves in local
festivities, all while taking a crazy
number of photos and videos.
Why the exhilarating routine?
They’re the participants of Cebu
Pacific’s Ju
r
Challenge (
—
and as such they’ve agreed to go
to Pampanga, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao,
Cagayan de Oro and Manila to
complete six challenges in five days.
These five teams were given cameras
and PHP30,000 for their needs. The
group who had the most fun (based
on their log sheets and photos) and
spent the least money won: mountain
climber Benj Tuason, certified diver
Iris Patricia Ang, and pilot-in-training
Godfrey Medina of Team Big Explorers,
who just shelled out PHP9,020. Here’s
what it took to win, in their own words.
Cebu Pacific , s Juan for Fun Backpacker
Challenge proved one thing: that traveling is
much more fulfilling if it
,
s done outside your
comfort zone. By Cecile Jusi Baltasar
Benj, Iris and Godfrey, collectively known as Team Big
Explorers, won the challenge!
