They say that
all it takes for something to be great is a little
imagination. So think about what a good dose of it can bring to the way we
do things, the way we travel, the way we connect, and the way we live.
This October, as we celebrate our sixth anniversary, our issue is all
about imagination and how stretching it brings the best of possibilities. Just
ask the participants of Cebu Pacific’s
Juan for Fun Backpacker
Challenge
(
page 88),
all of whom had to get creative about finding ways
to travel across the country; or any of the five people who are doing what
they love and, in the process, are achieving extraordinary things
in the
service of others and country
(
page 94).
In this issue, we also take you through Singapore's art hubs where you
can flex your
creative muscles and indulge your artistic
side
(
page 60).
But if you’d rather pick up a camera over a paintbrush, our
latest edition of Smile PhotoTreks, which takes our participating shutterbugs
through the streets of
Kuala Lumpur and Malacca
(
page 68),
is
guaranteed to be a real treat. Or if you lean toward the practical arts, such
as cooking, then take inspiration from
the principles of Japanese
cuisine
(
page 77).
Finally, after a month of online
polling, our readers have spoken —
on where they dream of going to next,
and
what travel products
and services are tops on
their list
(
page 53).
Happy reading!
