TAKE A FIELD TRIP
Miaoli is a beautiful region in Taiwan. Lots of people also come
here for Tongluo, where — for one month every year — the white
chrysanthemum flower blooms, covering the fields with what looks like
from a distance — a sheet of freshly fallen snow.” George was actually
there to film a travel program. “I did lots of things during that trip, including
picking strawberries in the mountains of Dahu.”

ATTEND TO YOUR KNEADS
This trip to Thailand was special, as
I was working on an exciting film project. I
met a lot of great actors and friends there,”
he relates. “In between filming, my friend
thought it would be a good idea to get a Thai
massage to help us relax. This was the first
time I had it… and the last time, probably.
It wasn’t all that relaxing for me – I felt like
I was being beaten up at times. Or at least
wrestled into submission.”

GET IN TOUCH WITH
NATURE
Singapore is where I’m currently based –
and what a place it is to live in. I especially
love the cityscape at night. And the
weather! It’s always hot here, which some
people complain about,” he observes.
But I’m from England, where it’s chilly
most of the year. When I tell people back
home that I can swim outdoors any time
of day or night, they get very envious.”
The conservatories at Gardens by the Bay
impressed him. “Once you step inside the
massive dome conservatories, you feel
like you’ve stepped into a science fiction
film set. There’s a garden, a rainforest and
waterfalls in a glass dome, which overlook
the already futuristic cityscape that is
Marina Bay.”

BE FLEXIBLE
Here I am
in a car trunk. It
was cramped and
somehowmemorable
because of it. I guess
my friends thought it
was funny that I was
stowed in the boot with
the rest of the luggage.”

TAKE A BREAK
I spent much of my formative years
in London, so many places there instantly
bring up a lot of childhood memories. I’ll
always love London,” he admits. And when
he feels like going for a walk, he often
ends up in Neal’s Yard. “It’s a special little
nook that’s tucked away in Covent Garden.
It’s a great place to hang out and have
coffee before marching on with the rest of
your life."
