I’VE LIVED
in Cagayan de Oro (CDO) since
birth. I grew up going around the city on
Saturday afternoons with friends, watching
double feature films at the local cinema,
grabbing bites to eat in local cafés, and
spending time just exploring Divisoria, the
city center.
But what I love most about CDO is how
it has retained its small-town feel. Even

Ayala, SM and Robinsons, you can still
easily go to the mountains or the beach

A lot of things are happening —
including the opening of a new mall — and
everybody seems eager to get into the
booming economy of CDO.

the most variety, make your way to Cogon
Market. Check out the sarongs, handicrafts,
and ethnic furniture. Another option is to
take a short drive to the beaches of Opol
for a quick dip in the clear waters.
