had Basil Valdez as the voice of Rama
and Kuh Ledesma for Sita. This time
around, the pop ballet musical will have
Christian Bautista and Karylle filling
in these roles, along with Ballet
Philippines’ principal dancers
Richardson Yadao and Katherine
Trofeo playing the parts. Based on
the Indian epic
Ramayana,
the
production is choreographed
by Ballet Philippines’
founder Alice Reyes and
set to the live music of
the Manila Symphony
Orchestra. Music is by
Ryan Cayabyab, libretto
is by National Artist for
Literature Bienvenido
Lumbera, and the set
and costume design will
be carried out by National
Artist for Theater Design
Salvador Bernal. In Filipino
with English subtitles.
