For this month’s cover,
Smile
nods to a two-wheel lifestyle that we
hope will gain even more traction in the coming years. We trooped
to the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, where
half the road around the academic oval has been allotted for bikers
and pedestrians. The university was also the setting for our cover
feature shoot that brought together people from different walks of life
who share at least one passion: the hope that cities in the Philippines
become more bike-friendly. The call for additional bike lanes has
been around for some time — and there are pockets showing positive
signs, from Marikina and Cavite, all the way to Cebu
and Davao — so we’re adding our voice to the
chorus. In other news, starting November,
we’re giving you even
more Chikka. Check
out our new travel
health and ideas
pages. Enjoy!
