Bobby Rodriguez
Surrounded by stunning limestone formations, Bobby trained
his ultrawide angle lens upward to capture this unusual view
of Ha Long Bay. Adding the boat mast and the human figure
made for an interesting foreground reference, while under-
exposing the shot brought out the moody atmosphere on that
extremely misty day.
Judith Juntilla
While driving outside Hanoi, the PhotoTrekkers stopped by the roadside
to photograph the surrounding rice fields. Judith, a journalist, used a
humble point ‘n’ shoot camera to document this modern twist to the classic
Vietnamese scene of farmers and their distinctive conical hats. “It was
just a matter of waiting for something interesting to happen,” the fledgling
photographer notes, adding that her camera’s simple controls made it easier
to concentrate on the scene before her.
Reda David
The Thap Rua Pagoda in the middle
of Hoan Kiem Lake forms a dramatic
shape against the early morning fog.
Reda composed this shot with some
nearby branches to add interest to
her subject. She also tweaked the
white balance settings on her camera
to produce a cool blue tone to
the image, resulting in this truly
atmospheric scene.
