Macau has an exciting cuisine that
exemplified “fusion” long before the
idea existed — a food scene as varied
and satisfying as the haul in a fisherman’s
net. So catch it while you can!

of crispy anchovy. The road back
to Macau crosses reclaimed land
between Coloane and middle island
Taipa. Midway it broadens to become
the Cotai Strip, the Las Vegas-style
boulevard of casinos and hotels where
recent arrival Belon restaurant occupies
the top floor of the stylish Banyan Tree.
Chef Robby Setiawan and his team
produce some memorable food from its
kitchens — including a classic lobster
bisque alongside more contemporary
fare such as lightly smoked tuna (which
is still being smoked when it arrives at
the table!).
But good food doesn’t need to come
at a price, and Grand Lisboa’s Noodle
& Congee Corner has garnered awards
for its affordable Cantonese offerings —
including carp-belly congee at MOP45
(PHP245) and
la mian
noodles with
shredded eel at MOP62 (PHP337).
