Facebook page reveals the top five
restaurants that come highly recommended

The Four Seasons
Restaurant
Magallanes St., Legazpi City
Mr. Guan Chan, the family patriarch,
opened The Four Seasons Restaurant,
Legazpi’s best bet for Chinese food, in 1971.
A year later, he invented a unique recipe of
fried chicken with an extraordinary sauce
called Season Chicken. Since then, it has
been their bestseller; and 40 years since
its debut, it now has foodie fans in Cebu,
Manila, Bacolod and many other places.

Waway’s Restaurant
Bonot, Legazpi City
Now on its 44th year, Waway’s is one of
the oldest restaurants in the province. It
is also a culinary landmark, serving Bicol
Express since 1967. Waway’s was a small
nipa
hut when it first opened, but thanks
to a devoted following, it has grown to
become a charming tourist destination in
itself. Their secret? Only the freshest hot
chili and other equally fresh ingredients for
their special Bicol Express.
1
Small Talk Café
Doña Aurora St., Legazpi City
Since 1995, Small Talk Café has been a
local favorite due to their first fusion dish,
the Pasta Pinangat/Laing, as well as their
Bicol Express pasta, which is made more
appetizing with pork, chili, garlic and
alamang
.
What’s more, the place presents a
tranquil and homey ambience, with old
Albay memorabilias, paintings and pre-war
pictures on display.
3
Alibar
Mabini St., Legazpi City
Since 1982, Alibar has been known for its
affordable meals and rice toppings with
choices of fried chicken, pork asado, pork
afritada, buttered vegetables, sweet and
sour fish, and chopsuey. But it’s not just
students who flock over for these “Alibar
Favorites” — the “Alibar Platter,” which
includes rice, soup, salad, porkchop,
halabos na hipon
, fish fillet, and the Alibar
chicken special, is also good for the family.

1st Colonial Grill
and Bikol Blends
Café
Villa Armada Hotel, Rizal St., Sagpon
Daraga
The Grill brings back a nearly forgotten
Bicolano dish — the Tinutungang Manok.
Cooked in
gata
, this chicken dish is fast
becoming a bestseller just like their
signature Tinapa Fried Rice. The Café, on
the other hand, serves the must-try
sili
shake and ice cream, and Sushi Laing.
