WHAT’S A PINOY CHRISTMAS
feast
without ham? This year, make sure to
include Virginia Pineapple Ball Ham in your
lineup. Succulent, juicy and sweetened to
perfection, it promises to be the star of your
Noche Buena. And with a few quick tricks,
you’ll be able to whip up starters and mains
without breaking a sweat. Then you’ll have
all your energy left to have a ball with family
and friends. Here are a few quick and easy
recipe ideas.
Sweet hamon sticks
What you need:
Virginia Pineapple Ball
Ham, fresh or canned pineapple, bamboo
sticks
Ham it up:
Slice the pineapples and Virginia
Pineapple Ball Ham into small 1” cubes.
With each stick, skewer a piece of ham,
alternated with a pineapple, and then
another piece of ham. Repeat with all the
sticks, and then arrange
finished sweet ham sticks on
a serving dish.
Virginia Christmas hamon
What you need:
Virginia Pineapple Ball
Ham, salad greens, fresh strawberries,
oranges and berries
Ham it up:
Who needs lechon when you
can have sweet hamon as the centerpiece
of your holiday feast? On a huge serving
platter, lay a generous amount of lettuce and
salad greens as a base. Place the Virginia
Pineapple Ball Ham on top of the bed of
greens. Around the ham, garnish with your
choice of fruits. Drizzle with honey dressing.
Virginia hamand cheese
roll-ups
What you need:
A pack of flour tortillas
(
medium-size), cream cheese, thin slices
of Virginia Pineapple Ball Ham, and one
cucumber (peeled, seeded and sliced)
Ham it up:
Coat a tortilla with cream cheese,
spreading it evenly over the entire surface.
Place one or two slices of Virginia Pineapple
Ball Ham, making sure to leave an inch of
free space on one end. Take a cucumber
slice and put on top of the ham. Now roll
the tortilla from the side with ham, finishin
up with the cream cheese end (the cheese
will make the tortilla “stick” to keep the
roll in place). With the seam down, take a
sharp knife and
make 1” slices.
Arrange them
nicely on a
festive platter,
and serve.
AS MORE AND MORE
homes are designed
accommodate changing lifestyles — and very
specific ones as well — looking for the right
one has taken on the flavor of finding the shoe
that fits perfectly. Among the many things that
people are looking for in a home these days?
More space — outside.
Increasingly over the years, fitness buffs
are not just confining their exercise routines
within the gyms but outdoors too,” says Marco
R. Antonio, Co-COO of Century Properties, one
of the one of the country’s most conceptual
developers. It’s a positive indulgence that
companies like Century Properties are more
than happy to incorporate right from the
drawing board. Antonio, who heads a new
project called Residences at Commonwealth
by Century (
com
),
has taken the insight to heart. “Our
newest property is designed to have pockets
of wellness zones — from meditative Zen and
Pilates gardens and spaces for outdoor yoga.”
It’s not just fitness buffs that are getting a
custom-fit; blueprints across the country are
also making room for the more artistically
inclined. This trend of tailoring homes to
specific needs shows an understanding of
how different homeowners can be from one
another, and that such diversity is a good thing.
One of our goals is to encourage our future
homeowners to pursue their own passions,
whether it be in the arts, homemaking or active
and healthy lifestyles,” Antonio says. “It has
always taken wildly creative and passionate
people to shake up the world and turn it into
an exciting place to live in.”
