A new adventure outfitter, specializing in
cross-country tours on two wheels, lets
travelers get up close and personal
with the countryside. Agu Paiso
finds out what the excitement
is all about
AS A MEANS
of transportation, this
two-wheeler is hard to beat. For
starters, a motorcycle can get to places
otherwise inaccessible by a car or
bus — such as narrow roads, or even
off-road — for that matter. It can also
get you to those places in a fairly swift
fashion, with a degree of fuel economy
to boot.
As a tool for touring, the motorcycle
lowers the barriers between the rider/
tourist and the locale. You aren’t
shielded from the elements by a
combination of metal, glass, and air
conditioning. The rider is exposed to the
sun, the dust, or the rain, and indeed
this also means you get a deeper, more
involved experience with the sights,
sounds and the people of the area.
After all, those are the very reasons you
go on a tour in the first place.
