There are many things to do in
Coron, but it , s the white sand
beaches and secret lagoons
that put this region on its own
level entirely
In Coron, there is
an abundance of
majestic limestone
cliffs rising above
clear blue waters;
(
below) once you
climb Mt Tapyas’
700
steps, you’ll
be rewarded with
an awesome view
Tell someone that you are
going to Coron and you
will get a reverential
hush, a moment of
silence, a mental
sigh as they
pause to wish
that it was them
going in your
place. Palawan is
often referred to as
The Final Frontier” of
The Philippines and Coron
sits at the edge of this vast and
beautiful group of islands.
While The Philippines has many
beaches that make it on “Best Of”
lists around the world, none of them
hold a candle to Coron’s unique vistas.
Majestic limestone cliffs rise above
clear blue waters, still lakes and lonely
islands beckon for an afternoon of
doing absolutely nothing, and fresh
seafood is caught daily and prepared
with local flavors.
Those traveling by air will arrive in
Busuanga, just a few minutes away
from Coron Town, which is the jump-off
point for the rest of the Calamianes
Islands. Coron is a laid-back town that
is just now beginning to see how much
potential it has as a tourist hub.
Start your trip with a dip in the
Maquinit Hot Springs, the only
saltwater hot spring in the country.
The springs have been enclosed in a
pool where seawater from the nearby
ocean overflows during high tide. The
combination of heat and minerals gives
the water soothing properties that are
effective for sore muscles.
