For this issue’s cover feature, we flew to Tagbilaran and had the
opportunity to meet a number of inspiring locals — some of them
have returned to Bohol after years of living elsewhere, and others
are relatively new to the place — who are helping put the destination
on the country’s must-visit map. They each had a story to tell about
how they found their way to Bohol, but all their stories had a common
thread: the pull was personal. Whether it was about building the
resorts of their dreams, giving back to the community and helping
people earn their livelihood, or treasuring what they grew
up with by preserving their childhood homes,
one thing was clear in their voices: the joy and
utter bliss you get from doing what you love
best. Don’t just take
our word for it: pay
