DEGAS’ METHOD
From7 June to 1 September, 2013, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek
museum in Copenhagenwill present Degas’ Method, a
groundbreaking exhibition exploring the working processes of Edgar
Degas (1834-1917), one of the 19th century’s most innovative artists.
An outstanding selection of 159 works taken from the Glyptotek’s
own collections andmuseums around the worldwill be on display,
with paintings, sculptures, pastels and prints displayed alongside
each other to reveal the complex nature of his art.
Of all artists, it can be argued that Degas’ methods deserve the
most scrutiny. He changed the premises for painting and sculpture
