When European countries made legis-
lations for the use of safety solutions on
textile, it helped us growing, Managing
Director Stig Nordli and Administration
Coordinator Marit Holm Karlsen admit.

We have however managed to expand
world wide despite Norway as a high cost
country. For the resent years we have mo-
ved the major production to Sweden and
Poland. All the development of new pro-
ducts is nevertheless done in Norway. To
meet competition world wide Sto-Nor of-
fers service such as keeping storages near
the markets to shorten the lead time.

DEMANDING STANDARDS
Nordli emphasize the European standards
his products has to meet:

The tape has for instance to withstand
between 50 and 100 times of laundering
without loosing it´s property. This is a chal-
lenge when industrial laundries normally
don´t treat work wear with too much care.
The products alsomust resist acids, extreme
heating and rough treatment in use.
We have seen reflective tape from com-
petitors that hardly withstands a trip-
le laundering, Nordli says, and feels quite
safe for his business.
MINING AND SPORT
A growing market since the 1970´s has
been the offshore industry with their high
requirements for safety. Nordli now sees
the US and the US offshore industry as a
growing market, and he recognizes possi-
bilities wherever standards of visibility are
introduced.

Mining industry is a new market we
have contact with. We also consider the
sportswear market interesting. As a result
we have developed an elastic reflective tape
which can be stretched and therefore being
ideal to different kinds of sports outfit.
LOGO IN THE DARK
Sto-Nor´s newest technology provides ref-
lective company logos, recently delivered
to Poste Italiane, the largest Italian post
company. Sto-Nor also produce seam sea-
ling tape making any kinds of sportswear
