We
won!
R
ecently, we welcomed the latest addition to
our fleet: our very first 787 Dreamliner. I know
that this is something both you, our customers,
and we at Norwegian have been looking
forward to for a long time. This marks a major
milestone in our company’s history and is an important step
towards strengthening our position in the market to ensure
competitiveness in the future.
The 787 Dreamliner will operate on our long-haul routes,
and is the most modern and technologically advanced long-
haul aircraft in production today. It has many features that I
am sure our passengers will appreciate. The pressure in the
cabin is set to simulate a lower altitude than conventional
planes, which in turn reduces typical jetlag symptoms such
as headaches and muscle pain. The aircraft is also a lot less
noisy; in fact, the noise footprint of the Dreamliner is 60 per
cent smaller than those of today’s similarly sized airplanes.
In addition, the aircraft is composed of lightweight
composites and uses 20 per cent less fuel than today’s
similarly sized aircraft. Our goal is to operate the most
environmentally friendly and cost-efficient fleet and this is
something the Dreamliner will significantly contribute towards.
It is now 11 years since we came up with the vision that
nobody should have to choose between reasonable flights and
comfortable flights. It is fantastic that so many passengers
have joined us and taken part in our vision by flying with us
around the Nordics, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East,
and now also to Asia and the US.
All in all, we have eight Dreamliners on order, which means
this is just the beginning. We can’t wait to announce our new
destinations and hope that you are just as excited as us!
We hope to see you on board the Dreamliner soon!
Norwegian offers free WiFi on more than 70 per cent of its flights.
