GIVING BRAIN CANCER
A COMMON COLD.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
PRACTICING MEDICINE
AND LEADING IT.
At Houston Methodist, we’re pioneering clinical
trials in gene therapy to fight inoperable forms
of brain cancer. By infecting a malignant tumor
with a common cold virus, we transform the
DNA of the cancer cells to look like a disease
we already know how to cure. Using targeted
therapy to deliver conventional medication, the
cancerous cells are destroyed, giving patients
new hope for survival.
