THE AURORA BOREALIS
NATURE’SGREATEST SHOW
NASA PREDICTS SOLAR MAXIMUM
The sun goes through an 11 year activity cycle and
the peak of this cycle is known as Solar Maximum.
Historically, the winters around Solar Maximum are
when the Northern Lights are at their most frequent
and spectacular.
Based on sunspot data, NASA’s prediction is that the
next Solar Maximum will occur in Autumn 2013.
THE AURORA ZONE
We have created the widest selection of Northern Lights holidays - ranging
from leisurely to very active - across Northern Lapland.
On our more active Aurora hunts, you’ll be exploring by day and by night. Our
leisurely and gentle trips include a few easy paced activities such as a short
dog sled safaris or ice fishing.
In Inari-Saariselkä region in Northern Lapland, the lights dance across the sky
approximately 200 days a year and so providing the weather conditions are
right, you have a fantastic chance of witnessing them.
Our Aurora Zone holidays are always based in areas with minimal light
pollution which is essential if you want to see the Aurora clearly.
Our network of localAurora experts (there is no substitute for local knowledge)
will maximise your chances of seeing the spellbinding Northern Lights.
We have departures from August 2013 through to April 2014.
