it’s a great time
to be at easyJet,
especially for me, working in IT. My role
is as a ‘solution architect’, which involves
taking a look at where the company is
heading from an IT point of view. It’s
my job to keep easyJet.com moving
forward and staying healthy with new
technologies. Allocated seating, for
example, has been a huge project – a
big team effort across IT – for about 18
months. It’s totally new territory, but the
feedback has been good and we believe
this will make life better for both casual
travellers and business passengers.
This year, there will be even more
changes. In spring, we’re going to start
flying to Moscow and I think there will
be some other surprises coming soon.
We’re already putting in a system to
improve easyJet.com
.
Recent innovations
to the homepage experience like ‘Inspire
me’, mean you can pick destinations
based on how much you want to spend,
and there’ll soon be a new content
management system that will open a lot
more doors and new opportunities for
the business traveller. The mobile app is
going from strength to strength too.
As for me, I’m thinking of taking
advantage of staff travel to Russia in
the upcoming months. Maybe next
Christmas – it would be pretty cool to
see Red Square in the snow.
Happy New Year, everyone!
