Go on a
horror holiday
Most of us try
to avoid holiday
nightmares, but at one campsite in
Lancashire, they’re guaranteed.
Horror Camp Live
is the UK’s first
“
immersive horror” overnighter, on
26
and 27 April, where thrill-
seekers are invited to be scared
witless by a rampaging serial killer
and other frights
.
Perfect if you like
“
total darkness, narrow tunnels and
sudden loud noises”. Not so good if
you were hoping for toasted
marshmallows and a campfire
sing-song.

Dress for success
With Brit fashion having
something of a moment,
we asked rising star
Olivia Rubin
for a few pointers on what
we should be wearing on British streets
this summer. Her bright prints are – so
Vogue
tells us – “fresh, fun and feminine”,
not to mention bang on-trend, so she was
an ideal interview subject.
What does British fashion mean
to you?
“
The British have a unique
identity. We’re not governed by trends,
but by an individual sense of style that’s
all about creativity and originality.”
Whose style do you rate?
“
I love those who dress for themselves –
people like [UK] TV presenter Fearne
Cotton and [singer] Paloma Faith. They
like to play around with fashion and don’t
take it too seriously.”
Who do you design for? “
I like to
think anyone could wear my designs.
A younger woman might go for a
statement-print maxi dress; her mum
might just wear a subtle pop on a bag.”
Let us in on a shopping secret.
“
I like a store called Trilogy (
trilogystores.
co.uk
)
in Chelsea. It sells mainly denim,
and a lot of interesting and unusual
brands. The buyers have a good eye.”
What trends should we be looking
out for?
“
A lot of bright colours, but also
monochrome, which is quite refreshing
in the summer. It’s great for balancing out
the really bold colours I love.”
