Stelios Haji-Ioannou to offer
low-cost flights in Europe. In
November our inaugural flights
take off from London Luton to
Glasgow and Edinburgh.
We launch our first
international flights, from
London to Amsterdam, Nice
and Barcelona. Our first low-
fares flight promotion attracts

m calls in four days.
Online bookings become
available at easyJet.com.
We buy Swiss charter
operation TEA Basel AG in
March and open easyJet
Switzerland.
We sell two million seats
online. In November we float
easyJet on the London Stock
Exchange at a price of 310p
per share, making the value of
the company £777m.
easyJet.com is named the
second largest UK travel
website. London Gatwick
becomes our fifth base, and
we become the second largest
scheduled airline at the airport.
We buy Go, British Airways’ low-cost airline. With the combination
of easyJet’s 35 aircraft and Go’s 27 aircraft, we become Europe’s
number one low-cost airline.
Berlin Schönefeld celebrates
the arrival of our 100th aircraft
and we welcome onboard
our 100 millionth passenger

We roll out internet check-
in for UK passengers, and a
15-
minute gate arrival time
for those travelling with hand
baggage. Speedy boarding
begins.
easyJet becomes a pan-
European airline, with 400
routes to 27 countries. For
the first time, over 50% of
our passengers originate from
outside the UK.
We welcome our
200
th Airbus to our
fleet, becoming the youngest
airline to reach this milestone.
Launch of our smartphone app
for flight booking on the go.
Our 23rd European
base in Lisbon opens,
flights begin to Reykjavik
and Kefalonia, and allocated
