little surprise that the world’s best have
travelled to Zrc´e Beach, on the Croatian
island of Pag, to play to hordes of
enthusiastic clubbers for 10 years now.
Pag was once a sleepy fishing island,
but Zrc´e has now become the number
one destination for clued-up clubbers.
The two main clubs on Zrc´e are Club
Papaya - named the #30 club in the
world by DJ Magazine - and Aquarius,
Zagreb’s famous club which relocates
to the island during the summer.
Here, revellers enjoy cocktails and
pumped-up sound systems in the stylish
beach terrace bars at the infamous After
Beach Parties by day, before dancing
under the stars and feeling the euphoria
as the sun rises over the Adriatic Sea.
Papaya and Aquarius have got an
exciting 2012 season ahead, hosting big-
name DJs such as Armin Van Buuren,
Eddie Halliwell, Annie Mac, Axwell,
Kinky Malinki, Fedde Le Grand, Benny
Benassi, Eve and many more, as well as
festivals such as Hideout, Fresh Island
and Day and Night. Such big names are
attracted here because of the unique
crowd vibe and beautiful scenery.
Zrc´e also hosts Big Beach - Croatia’s
biggest open-air beach party - which
will be headlined by the godfather of
electronic music, Carl Cox, on 21 July.
During the day, visitors can swim in the
turquoise sea and enjoy activities such
as bungee jumping, water skiing, cage
ball and wakeboarding - or sample the
delicious restaurants in nearby Novalja.
