EVER SINCE I WAS
10 years old, I’ve
wanted to be a pilot. I went straight into
flying once I finishedmy degree and
have been at easyJet for eight years. It
means working odd days and odd hours,
but it provides the best office with a
view – from the flight deck, we get to see
some amazing landscapes and sunsets.
It’s a wonderful feeling to fly and a huge
responsibility.
easyJet employs a great bunch
of people from all over Europe, with
different backgrounds and cultures.
This makes my work fun and a lot
easier. The flexibility and dynamism
of our staff allows most problems to
be solved efficiently. It’s also nice to
be able to fly to different places. My
European geography knowledge has
improved tremendously!
No two days are the same at easyJet,
but a typical shift starts in the crew
room, where we get all the paperwork,
and cabin crews and pilots brief each
other. We thenmake our way to the
aircraft in order to prepare it for the
passengers. Most flights tend to be
relatively short, but this suits me
well, as take-offs and landings are my
favourite bits.
I grew up in Grenoble and learned to
fly in the Alps, and Geneva is still one of
my favourite easyJet destinations. The
approaches into the airport are
beautiful, with wonderful views. Coming
in on a morning, Mont Blanc welcomes
you into the airport as the sun rises
in the background. The airport is very
efficient, and a nice cup of coffee with
a mean piece of chocolate is always
close by during the turnaround. The city
is elegant and a great place to spend
the day – it’s the gateway to somany
amazing places.
Inmy spare time, I like to be in
the mountains where I can practise
climbing and skiing. I met my wife while
I was learning to fly, and we are lucky to
have two wonderful boys that keepme
onmy toes. My family has always been
very supportive of me.
easyJet is a dynamic airline that is
constantly expanding its network. I
always try to progress inmy career and
seek new learning experiences, so – as
long as the company will provide me
with opportunities and development
– I see myself working here for a long
time. I feel very lucky to have realised
my childhood dream.
