LUNCHTIME DISCO
LONDON
Something of a sister
club to Lunch Beat,
Lunchtime Disco takes
place on the last Friday of
each month at Islington’s
Drink, Shop & Dance,
hosted by party girl Jess
Indeedy. Running from
noon to 3pm, it’s created
for those who “can’t wait
for the weekend to start”.

KLUBNACHT
BERLIN
On Sundays at Berghain,
Berlin’s infamous techno
club, hardcore locals will
have been going since
the night before, but you
can rock up fresh and
lively at midday to catch
the last three hours.
Recent arvo sessions
have included Andrew
Weatherall and Tensnake.
Not for the faint-hearted.

LA RAMBLA
ALICANTE
If you’re not 18, it can
be tough keeping up
with Spain’s 1-8am
nightlife. Hence a new
phenomenon for late 20/
early 30-somethings:
Saturday afternoon
clubbing. From about
4pm, you can dance
at bars along Calle de
Castaños or head for
popular The Clap (

– be sure to dress up!

not-for-profit, Ränge has been
inundatedwith requests frompeople
keen to host their own Lunch Beats
– events can nowbe found across
Europe, taking place in Manchester,
Vienna, Paris and beyond. Ränge
says themost distant Lunch Beat
she’s heard of so far is in
Bogota, Colombia.
On 31 May, 15 synchronised
sessions were live-streamed on
the club’s website
(lunchbeat.org)
,
linking noontime boogiers from
Hamburg’s Fundbureau, The Lot in
Copenhagen and other top venues.
It’s all very impressive for such a tiny
start-up, but Ränge isn’t resting on
her laurels. She says her next step is
to crack America. “The US boom is
only amatter of time.”
