(130 King’s Road, SW3)With
icy cold delights such as English bramble,
salted caramel and red velvet all on themenu, this
fast-expanding chain is surfing the current zeitgeist for
modern frozen yoghurt flavours. There’s a hint of the
retro too, in the old-school dairy surroundings. Quite
fitting really, given that themilk tomake the yoghurt
is delivered fresh from the farmeach day.

(2 Spring Gardens,Trafalgar Square, SW1, tel:
020 7870 2900) There are almost toomany things to
recommend about this smart, lively dining room. The
open-plan space is perfect for enjoying great cocktails,
or, with its huge bourbon selection, pre-dinner drinks;
while themenu is sure to excite the young, wealthy
clientele. Starters such as the spicy and fresh smoked-
chickenVietnamese-style saladwell complement
mains from the grill. Of course, the location isn’t too
shabby either, sitting, as it does, in entrance of the
five-starred HiltonTrafalgar hotel, which overlooks
the iconic London square.

St John’s Square, EC1 tel: 020 7553 9210) In a small,
intimate dining roomon a cobbled street of similar
stature, chef Anna Hansen has been collecting a not-so-
London
minute amount of praise for her latest venture. Not
surprising then, that it’s a little tricky to get your name
on the list at the pared-back restaurant, where you can
see the chef and her teamat work.Themenu is a wild
rollercoaster ride of tastes, textures and ingredients
with lamb rump spiced upwithmasala, crustedwith
smoked cassava and servedwith coconut, wild garlic
and grapes. Organic wines are paired to each dish, or
ask the nice, relaxedwaiters to suggest a bottle.
Proud Galleries
(The StablesMarket, NW1,
tel: 020 7482 3867) This legendary night spot
attracts students and young Camden locals alike to
its unique location, at the back of the old stables along
fromCamden Lock.Made up of two large spaces and
lots of private booths with poles at the centre of each
one, needless to say, the nights here aremore risque
than the clientele themselves and you never know if the
audience ismoreA-list than those on stage.
