six should be as excited as we are
about the MarineWorlds Carousel
opening on 15 July, but what a ride
this is! The folks at the Machines
de l’île workshops have been
developing this merry-go-round for
five years; mechanical sea creatures
crowd three levels of its 25m-tall
structure, with crabs, stingrays and
razor-toothed fish all pneumatically
undulating in larger-than-life detail.
The plum view is from atop a fire
breathing, tongue-flicking sea
serpent. We wanna go!
