AS A CHILD, FLYING
always fascinated
me and withmy job at easyJet, my
dreamhas become a reality. Before
becoming part of the cabin crew,
I worked as an accountant in a well-
known, five-star hotel chain, but when
I settled down in Geneva in 2005, I
saw job opportunities at easyJet and
applied. Six and a half years on, I’m
very happy and proud to be a member
of the teamhere.
Working with our crews is a pleasure,
which gives me a lot of motivation
and happiness. The combination of
professional challenges and great
teamwork keepme very enthusiastic.
Onmost days, we have four flights.
At the start of the day, I domy check-in,
thenmeet my crew. As senior cabin
crew, I brief the rest of the crew about
safety and security issues. This is
always a pretty disciplined task and
requires high concentration. After the
briefing, the crew and I go together to
our second home: the airplane.
While in the air, I have a high level
of responsibility for people’s safety
and wellbeing and, also, for the crew;
making sure they do their duties, and
collaborate with each other in a healthy
and efficient manner. To helpme with
these responsibilities, I constantly
try to improve my performance and
interpersonal skills, including stress-,
conflict- and people-management,
while working with colleagues and
passengers fromdifferent backgrounds.
Cohesion between people from
different cultures is the spirit of our
crews and we learn from each other.
Every day we fly somewhere else,
meeting new people.We experience
wonderful views of the different
countries from above the clouds and
fantastic impressions of Earth. It’s just
great! My favourite flights are those to
SharmEl Sheikh, where we get to see
over the fabulous countryside and the
Red Sea. Passengers on these flights
are in a goodmood and happy that
they’re travelling to a beautiful country
on holiday. Flights from the UK and
Portugal are also great – the people
are very friendly and they have a good
sense of humour.
I really identify with easyJet and see
my long-term future here. I have a great
job, and I’ll continue to invest energy
and professional development into a
long-term career in the sky.
