Jimmie and Martin met
in Stockholm in 1997,
but didn’t start their
business, designing and
selling their art-inspired
furniture, until years
later. They used to be
based in East London,
but feel they've found
their niche here. Not all
their business is local
though – they designed
the throne
for Madonna’s US
Super Bowl show.

Anne Higgins has been
in Kensington for 25
years, exhibiting and
selling her “art to wear”
clothes, but she only set
up her eponymous shop
five years ago. Loyal
fans buy designs that
have been hand-knitted
on the Western Isles of
Scotland or made from
soft silk and finished on
the premises.

As well as established

keen eye to find those
