ANTONY’S MELTDOWN
Every year, the Southbank Centre
invites a world-famous artist to curate
the Meltdown festival, presenting live
music, performance art and theatre.
Previously, we’ve seen the New York
Dolls reform for Morrissey’s Meltdown,
and Jeff Buckley’s last UK performance
for Elvis Costello’s. This month Antony
Hegarty, lead singer of Mercury Award-
winning Antony and the Johnsons, gets
his way, ensuring a line-up straight outta
the New York underground scene. Don’t
miss a rare performance by Elizabeth
Fraser (6-7 August), her first in 14 years.
