and she deals with them like a pro. Peysha,
Manager of American Airlines Flight Service
Daily Operations and Security at American’s
headquarters near Dallas/FortWorth Interna-
tionalAirport, handleshundredsofdetailsdaily.
The25-yearAmericanveteranandher team
are responsible for coordinatingwith Systems
OperationsControl (SOC)andservingas liaison
between Flight Service, SOC, Security and the
FAA. “We’re the conduit for all of it,” she says.
“It’sagreat job.”
On her own time, Peysha is involved with
details of a diŠerent kind, coordinating key as-
pects of several of American’s Veterans’ Initia-
tives, including Sky Ball and Snowball Express.
“I started as a volunteer Flight Attendant serv-
ingguestsat theSkyBall event,” she says.
Now, Peysha organizes 150 table-service
volunteersandcoordinateswith thecatererwho
serves2,500attendees includingactivemilitary,
veteransanddistinguishedguestsat theannual
black-tieSkyBall dinner andgala. The fundrais-
er, through thepartnershipofAmericanand the
AirpowerFoundation,providesdirectsupportto
membersofallbranchesof themilitaryand their
families throughvariousprograms.
For the annual Snowball Express, American
flies nine charters intoDallas carrying surviving
spouses and children of fallenmilitary to enjoy
four days of entertainment and tomeet others
who have lost loved ones. Peysha is the Flight
Attendant crewcoordinator for thecharters.
Peysha, whose grandfather, father and
husband served in the U.S. Army, passionately
believes in honoring our nation’s veterans and
their families. “We can’t do enough to thank
them for their sacrifices,” she says.
