February isBlackHistoryMonth, and
there’s no better time tohighlight Ameri-

NegroCollegeFund (UNCF).
Formore than 30 years, Americanhas

UNCFplays a critical role in enabling
thousands of students to attend college
by awarding scholarships andproviding
internshipprograms to students from
low- andmoderate-income families. It
also provides operating funds for its 38
member colleges.
Two of American’s executives serve on
the board of trustees for two of the four
Texas-basedUNCF-member schools, and
many AmericanAirlines volunteers—
some of whom attendedUNCF colleges—
serve on theLeadershipCouncils of UNCF
chapters and support UNCFgalas and
walkathons throughout theAA system.
