NicoleKapioltas is involved inmanyaspectsof theAmeri-
can Airlines in-flight customer experience. Kapioltas
works in the Onboard Service division and handlesmar-
keting, promotions, and communications for onboard
products, which include everything from chef-designedmeals to wine glasses to seats to entertainment.
Kapioltas says that listening to customers and flight attendants and then improving American’s onboard
productsand servicesaccordingly isapriority.
“We’remaking adjustments and enhancements this year based on their input,” Kapioltas says. “Flight
attendantsknowwhat our customerswant.”
This year, American is introducing newwines, largerwine glasses in first class on international Boeing
777and transcontinental Boeing767-200aircraft, new in-flight entertainment, andnewentrées. Thosead-
ditionsare just a fewof themany enhancementsbeingmade this year.
“Despite current economic conditions, we are making
these changes, while beingmindful of spending, because
wearecommitted toprovidingproductsandservices that our customers valueand that enhance their
travel experience,” Kapioltas says. “In addition, these adjustments keep us competitive within the
industry.”
