GeoffGregor
For 40 years, AmericanAirlinesPremiumServicesRepre-
sentative Geoff Gregor of Orange County, California, has
enjoyed helping customers andmaking their experience
onAmerican “as exceptional as possible.”However, when
60disabledveteransof the IraqWarand their familiesflew intoOrangeCounty for theU.S.Army’sWounded
Warrior event, it wasGregorwho truly had the exceptional experience. “It enrichedmy life andwas some-
thing I’ll never forget,” saysGregor of the two-weekperiodduringwhichhegreeted thewounded veterans
upon theirarrival andhelped themwitheverything frombaggagehandling tosecuringwheelchairs torental
car upgrades to itinerary changes. Gregor even came in on his day off to assist the veterans. “It seems to
me thesesoldiers represent all that isgoodabout us,”hesays. “Thesewerepeoplewhohadgivenof them-
selves. Perhaps theyneededhelp. Perhaps they didn’t. But Iwanted tobe there for them in case they did.”
For his efforts, the Orange County Tourism Council recognized Gregor with its highest honor, which
pays tribute to travel-industry employeeswho take the extra step for visitors. Though appreciative, Gregor
is quick to note that AA’s service to the veterans was a team effort. “Everyone at Americanwas so
hospitableandhelpful to the veterans,”hesays. “And the veterans, without fail, weresograteful and
appreciative.“
