Have you tried everything imaginable to overcome your cat peeing outside the litter box in Fairfield IL?

Believe me I know what it's like.

A cat that pees in the house can make your home smell like a litter box.

It can be upsetting and stressful for you, and can become incredibly expensive if you're forced to continually clean carpets and floors, or replace furniture.

Many cat owners mistakenly believe that the problem will eventually go away... Others give up in frustration and are forced to give their cat away, or worse...

While others scream and shout at their feline friend, which only succeeds in creating an even more anxious and confused cat that's MORE LIKELY to pee and spray in inappropriate places.

If any of this sounds familiar to you, then don't worry...

Because whatever the reason for your cat's inappropriate peeing and spraying, I have a very simple solution...

And it will finally enable you to... Stop your cat peeing and spraying outside the litter box for good!

This professionally created and proven system will work whether your cat has just started peeing where they shouldn't, or if they've been doing it for years.

Imagine the happy, contented and loving cat you've always wanted!

When you have a happy cat, it will be a pleasure to have around the house, rather than a smelly nuisance!

You could save huge amounts of money on cleaning supplies! When your cat is peeing in the litter box, you'll no longer need to spend money repeatedly cleaning carpets, floors and furniture, saving you hundreds of dollars a year, and possibly more.

Dramatically reduce your stress levels! We all know how stressful it can be when you're constantly worrying about when and where it's going to happen next, while cleaning the same spots multiple times can be EXTREMELY annoying.

Imagine being able to leave the house with no worries! Once your cat has been trained to pee where it's supposed to - and nowhere else - you'll finally be able to leave the house without worrying about what you might find when you return home!)And say goodbye to inappropriate peeing and spraying FOREVER.

If you were to finally eradicate your cat's urination problem once and for all, how would that make you feel?

I know how you feel now. Here is my story:

I recently adopted a little stray and named him Timmy.

We had some issues with him peeing wherever he wanted.

He peed on the furniture, in the corner of the kitchen, on the bed, on my clothes - anywhere but the litter box!

I was constantly cleaning the house, wiping up pee, washing my clothes and buying new cushions and bed linen.

Whatever I did... and whatever I tried... he just refused to pee in the litter box.

And it went on for months...

Until finally, the breakthrough happened!

I got chatting to a girl named Laura, a cat behavior specialist, who gave me a really weird but unbelievably effective trick that she said would encourage Timmy to start peeing in the litter box.

And incredibly, it worked straight away!

I was amazed that something so simple had worked so well...

For the first time since I'd brought him home, he'd peed where he was supposed to!

I HAD STOPPED TIMMY PEEING OUTSIDE THE LITTER BOX, PERMANENTLY!

That's why we're thrilled to tell you about this brand new solution to cat peeing and spraying - Cat Spraying No More™

Because this is a proven system Guaranteed to stop your cat peeing outside the litter box!

Cat Peeing On Bed

When I perform a consultation for an inappropriate urination problem, I usually recommend offering two litterboxes placed side by side and then changing one aspect, such as removing the lid or changing to a different type of litter in the second box. That way, we can determine the cat’s true preference. Usually, when a cat has seemed OK with a litterbox but then suddenly finds it intolerable, he was not truly happy with the previous arrangement in the first place.

Cat Peeing And Drinking A Lot

His whole home was a different apartment, with different smells, different windowsills and different views. Add to that another feline. Plus, he's had a history of sensitive urinary tract issues. Extra spoonfuls of wet food and extra treats couldn't change the fact that Fyodor, already a little excitable and nervous, had just gone through a huge change.

First, see your vet to make sure your cat is not suffering from an infection of the bladder or urinary tract. If your cat gets a clean bill of health and is still peeing on the bed, here are five possible reasons why your cat is using your bed as a litter box.

Cat Is Peeing On My Stuff

Garber suggests setting up a cat litter test: Put two cat litter boxes next to each other, one filled with a soft type, Brand A, and the other with a rougher type, Brand B. Whichever litter your cat clearly ends up preferring is your new cat litter. And if you have multiple cats who each prefer different types? Then you can make sure they are each happy with their own boxes and their own litter.

Why Is Cat Peeing All Over The House

I'm sorry you are going through this with your kitties. Until someone comes up with a solution, you could put a large plastic drop sheet, plastic shower curtain or vinyl tablecloth on the bed. Then place a sheet on top for them to lay on and absorb any wet accidents from them. The sheet can be thrown in the wash as well as the plastic. (06/14/2005)

Cat Is Peeing Outside Litter Box

There could be other location issues as well, Garber says. Maybe your cat has to pass the dog's favorite resting spot on the way to the litter box and is frequently chased. Or perhaps, Garber says, "Maybe the litter box is tucked into a closet with no escape routes to avoid another cat that enters."

What do sofas, beds, chairs and counters have in common? They have surfaces that are higher than the floor and have good views. The elevation is perfect for kitties to identify and escape potential threats and stressors. Survival is a priority — it’s instinctual, cats naturally don’t want to be ambushed. Sometimes, your cat peeing on the bed or the couch means these places feel safer than his litter box. It’s harder for other animals to corner and trap them on elevated areas because the perpetrators are easily seen.

One thing that worked for us is, every time the cat was good and used the litter box instead of the sofa, we gave him a little piece of turkey or ham for a treat and praised him. He learned Fast! Now he goes into the kitchen and expects his treat after he uses the litter. It's helped a lot. (01/03/2006)

Cats aren’t bad or purposely being naughty, nor are they seeking revenge when they urinate on the couches and the places we sleep. They should never be punished — there are legitimate reasons for the unwelcome behavior. Cats’ urinating in the wrong places sends a message to everyone in the household that there’s a problem that needs immediate attention. So if you’ve ever wondered, “Why is my cat peeing on the bed?” or, “Why is my cat peeing on the couch?” we’ve found a few reasons and ways to help you alleviate the issues!

When kitties urinate on elevated surfaces, they are sending a clear message that there is a potentially serious problem. Although frustrating, never punish the cat for the behavior. Instead, identify the reasons for the behavior and address them. If you can’t resolve the problem, then get help from a qualified expert certified in behavior.

"Perhaps your litter box is in a busy area, or it’s next to a noisy appliance like a clothes dryer, or one that turns on at random times like a furnace," says Paula Garber, a certified feline training and behavior specialist based out of Briarcliff Manor, New York, and who runs Lifeline Cat Behavior Solutions.

Why Cat Suddenly Peeing In The House

3. Make the previously soiled area unattractive to the pet. It doesn't have to be forever, but when you aren't sleeping in the bed, Garber says you could cover it with something like a shower curtain to make it a non-absorbent place the cat isn't going to be interested in.

I have two cats, a male and female, both neutered, neither de-clawed, and both from a shelter, when they were about 7-8 months old. Only one cat is the problem right now, the male. For the last couple of months, the male cat occasionally (once every 2-3 weeks) will pee on my bed... and he will always pee on my wife (haha), or wife's side! The female cat is fine. I have been reading posts, on other web sites, suggesting that it is due to de-clawing. Although this may be true in some rare cases, I believe it not to be true in the majority of cases. However, I have noticed a pattern in posts as I have been researching this problem, and will post what I have found after my story.

Another strategy I sometimes employ is to have the owner initiate a special play or treat time on the bed in the location where the cat has urinated. The goal here is to change the association for the cat from a potential latrine or marking area to a place of fun and/or eating, because most cats typically don’t urinate where they eat.

Cat Peeing On Dog Bed

I thought I was the only one who had this problem with cats going on the bed. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. Four of my cats aren't fixed, but they live in the house and it usually happens when they come in heat. I've placed a thick plastic on the bed and if they do have an accident, it's quickly soaked up and washed off. (07/07/2006)

Cat Peeing Around House

Some cats urinate on their owners’ beds if the owners work long hours or travel. Sometimes the inappropriate episodes occur either when an owner is out of the house or out of town, or the cat may wait until the owner returns home. It is a cat's way of communicating how unhappy or stressed he has been over your absence. Sometimes a cat may urinate on the side of the bed of the person with whom the cat has a conflict. I have seen this occur when an owner brings home a new partner or a housemate moves in and the cat is not immediately accepting of the new person in his life. Sometimes a move may be a catalyst for urinating on the bed. These various scenarios may be stressful for the cat, and the cat may want to intermingle his own scent with the owner’s scent on the bed. It is important to remember that the cat is not being ‘spiteful’ if this happens — it is simply that the intermingling of these odors may prove comforting to the cat. Because it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly what's causing the cat's anxiety, it's important to work with a veterinarian or veterinary behaviorist to identify the cause and determine the correct steps to help remedy the situation.

Cat Peeing Without Knowing

2. There are certain pheromone sprays (like feliway) available from petsmart and most vets, that help calm your cats if they are doing this out of stress (like the new dog someone mentioned). Making sure they have toys, catnip, and lots of calming influences (like a good hiding place?) will also help if the problem is stress.

We have been having this problem too, peeing on soft surfaces that the cat does not usually pee on (she regularly uses her litterbox) seems to be directly a response to stress, and especially to times when we are away from home more than usual. (we have a very finicky cat!)

Cat Peeing On Couch Suddenly

Most often when a client consults with me regarding her cat’s inappropriate urination on her bed, I can usually identify an anxiety-related issue. We try to identify the stressors that are contributing to the cat’s inappropriate behavior. Is there an issue related to the litterbox, location of the box or substrate (type of litter) that is causing the cat to stray away from the designated toileting area? Or are we dealing with a social issue — either tension in the relationship with the owner or with another cat, family member or pet in the household?

Common Questions About pets cats

Question: How do I stop my cat from urinating on the carpet?

My cat was always very well behaved and was trained as a ketten to go in his box. Hehas found one spot in our new house that he wants to urinate at and just stopped going in his catbox. We recently moved into this house. I have shampooed the carpet since then, his box is cleaned everyday. Any other suggestions? (He is a house cat, he doesnt go outside)

Answer: He can probably still smell the urine on that spot. You have to scrub the crap out of that area even more - remember, cats can smell more than we can. Then, try moving a piece of furniture over that spot and bringing the litter box closer for a little while. If you catch him in the act, scold him and place him in or near the litter box. Once the temptation is removed he should go back to using his litter box full time. Instinct takes over a lot, so remember there's usually a reason behind these behaviours and we must find our own flaws in order to prevent accidents.

Question: How can I get my cat to urinate in the litter box. She'l poop but won't pee in the litterbox?

Answer: Sometimes they develop a behavior that precludes urinating and defecating in the same box.
Set two litter trays near one another and keep them REALLY clean. Many times a whiff of urine and they won't use their box.

Good luck!
