Government today extended by one year the control order under the Essential Commodities Act to allow the states to take steps to curb unscrupulous trading and hoarding of pulses, edible oils and oilseeds. The validity of a central order was extended from October 1 to September 30, 2016 in respect of pulses, edible oils and oilseeds, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters after the Cabinet meeting. In view of shortages, it was decided in 2014 that pulses, edible oils and edible oilseeds to be brought under control order to ensure availability. The Cabinet, Prasad said, has also decided to put stock limit on registered warehouses with regards to pulses, edible oils and oilseeds.
The government has decided that stock limit will be imposed on such warehouses in regards to pulses, edible oils and edible oilseeds.
However, three categories will be exempted from stock limit — stockists who export, those who store raw material for food processing and those who supply to retail trade.
The government has taken these two important decisions regarding pulses, edible oils and edible oilseeds in view of the concerns raised regarding availability of these articles, the minister said. Continuing their selling spree, foreign investors have pulled out nearly Rs 5,500 crore from stock markets since the beginning of the month on worries of an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve.
Foreign investments are considered crucial for India, which needs around USD 1 trillion in the next five years to overhaul its infrastructure sector such as ports, airports and highways, to boost growth.

Olive oil naturally contains a high amount of monounsaturated fatty acids; in fact, it has the largest amount of monounsaturated fatty acids of all naturally produced oils. Just like there are many health benefits in nuts, nut oils contain many similar health benefits, including being low in saturated fats. Nut oils can be used in a variety of ways, including in baking (try hazelnut oil), stir fries (peanut oil is a great traditional oil), or on salads or vegetables (like almond oil). Regardless of which type of oil you choose to use, remember that while these oils have some health benefits, they’re still fats, so they should still be used within moderation. Traditional thinking regarding weight loss has always centered around the all-mighty Calorie.
Alpha-linolenic acid, a type of omega-3 fatty acid, is currently being researched for its possible benefits with reducing strokes, certain cancers, and skin problems. The good thing about avocado oil is that it has a higher smoke-point than olive oil, particularly the virgin and extra virgin olive oils.

It is expensive, I paid $45 for the tin pictured here and I buy it from Wine Warehouse in Atlantic Beach, but it tastes amazing. These health benefits make hemp oil a great choice, but like many of these oils, be careful of high heat; this oil works better in cooler applications, like salad dressings.
Other varieties, including pure and extra light olive oil, are more processed, but are also more heat-stable for cooking. I never cook with this oil, only using it on salads, other raw vegetables or drizzle a little on top of already cooked food for extra flavor. Both of these fatty acids are polyunsaturated and are important for normal growth and development.
