This photo was taken at my baby shower - I was 36 weeks pregnant and my sister Jess was 27 weeks pregnant. My mum and I are in the throes of planning a baby shower for my sister at the end of this month. I want to make up some sort of cute gift pack to give to my sister to help her in the first stages of motherhood.
To make the cute bag to put your little survival kit together I also have to thank Pinterest for this find.

Mom’s Ultimate Survival Kit Dec 30th, 201022 Comments Beckie from Infarrantly Creative asked me to participate in Pennywise Presents a few weeks ago, and I decided from the get go that I wanted to make something useful for my friends for Christmas.
A small note pad…because I tend to write myself notes on the back of old receipts A LOT because I cannot find a piece of paper.
A comb…because if you have little girls, it will come in handy to do a quick touch up in the parking lot.
Dum dum suckers…because sometimes a sucker is the only thing that will keep my kiddos quiet in a store.

Tylenol…in case of a headache…plus most of my friends are pregnant right now, so Tylenol is the only thing we can take! Hair elastics…because my girls decide to take their newly-done hairdos out all the time.
I found a piece of scrap fabric sitting in one of my drawers, and started the process by laying out the products across the fabric. I began by hemming the bottom edge of the fabric, and then I folded it up over the items to create little pouches for each product.
After I had sewn pouches into my fabric, I hemmed the top of the fabric to finish the edge.
I'm the same kind of mom as you when you said you never have exactly what you need for little emergencies. PLEASE TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT THAT FABRIC – it is PERFECT for my window bench seatcover. What a gret idea, I will making one for my daughter, two daughter’s in-law, my Administrative Assistant and myself.
She is 9 weeks behind me and has seen me walk through each stage of pregnancy, labour and newborn baby stages first.
We are planning a high afternoon tea using proper tea cups and saucers and getting all dressed up in dresses and heels. I found it really simple to make and you really can make any shape or size that you want with this tutorial I found. Spending a lot of mula is never on my to do list, and living a thrifty life is what I am ALL about.
I decided to include the essential items that Moms could use in their purses, and since I have young children and so do most of my good friends, the items reflect the necessities of a young mother.
I carefully marked how wide each pouch should be with a pencil, and one by one I sewed the lines into place.
I have learned a lot of lessons, and why not make your friends something to make their lives a tad bit easier! DO NOT distribute or copy the content or share multiple images (including collage images) without written permission. I think she has liked seeing someone else go through it and realise that things that she sometimes wonders or worries about is normal!
It will be a nice change to get dressed up and out of my usual attire of tracksuit pants or pajamas. I used my new found knowledge of "motherhood" to use some of the ideas above and create one of my own.
I have attached a link below for you to download the labels for you to use if you want to make your own survival kit. If you reside in an EU member state besides UK, import VAT on this purchase is not recoverable. Import charges previously quoted are subject to change if you increase you maximum bid amount. You could make a pamper one or one full of different chocolates with each meaning something. I am definitely getting better…but still I find myself wishing I had some essential Mom items with me at all times.
