27 July 2006 03:50 AMShow Postterrified posted 28 July 2006 08:08 PMHide PostIm yet another one with lumpy tongue syndrome - I was hoping Dr Joshi could advise me too!At the back of my tongue behind what I called the shark splits (my not so technical name for the splits at the back of my tongue that look a little like those on the sides of sharks) I have a row of three sort of bobbles - I guess they are something like papilla on the side of the tongue? An itchy skin rash can indicate an underlying health condition or disease, or can simply be a response to contact with an irritating substance. Eczema is a skin condition that causes patches of skin to become dry, red, inflamed and itchy. Chickenpox is an itchy rash that often begins on the stomach before spreading to the rest of the body. Many people experience itchy hands at some point, the American Academy of Dermatology says. WITH Christmas being just around the corner, companies have been busy battling it out to create this year's best festive advert. YOUTUBEThe Nandos Christmas advert is only being shown in South AfricaThe likes of John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Aldi and Lidl have all unveiled their Christmas offerings. However, despite the majority telling a tearjerking story, Nandos have told the, rather dark, tale of a friendship between a chicken and a turkey. In adults who have plaque psoriasis, the appearance of the small drop-like bumps of guttate psoriasis can be a sign that the disease is flaring up. This form of psoriasis appears in the folds of the skin as smooth, red patches without the scale found in plaque psoriasis.
Inverse psoriasis may appear in the genital area as well as under the breasts and in the armpits. Due to its location in skin folds where constant friction is present, there is a higher possibility that the lesions will spread to skin that was previously unaffected. Pustular psoriasis appears as small, white, fluid-filled blisters (pustules) surrounded by swollen, reddish skin. However, pustular psoriasis can cover the entire body and result in fever, fluid imbalances, and infection.
The majority of people with the more generalized form of this psoriasis need to be hospitalized. The resulting protein, fluid loss, and decrease in body temperature can lead to severe, life-threatening illness and may require hospitalization. ResourcesThere are numerous resources that can help you find anything from a local dermatologist to support groups.
A lingual tonsil can also be quite prominent and are mistaken by patients for cancerous growths .

Thanks for the info, I've read though and I'm still not entirely sure whether it's normal or not.
It is only about a week and a half after your wisdom teeth were removed so there will still be some swelling and lymph node enlargement. My tonsil was swollen and infected, and I had a few courses of antibiotics, which cured the infection temporarily, but some swelling remained. Determining the cause is important, because treatments differ for the various types of itchy rash. Small, fluid-filled blisters or weeping sores may develop in the rash and, over the long term, skin can begin to feel leathery as a result of excessive scratching.
The American Academy of Dermatology estimates that between 10 percent and 20 percent of children develop atopic dermatitis, most often before age 5, and that between 1 percent and 3 percent of adults develop the condition.
Although the condition varies from person to person, sufferers tend to notice certain irritants that set off an outbreak.
Mites, which are tiny, wingless bugs, burrow under the upper layer of skin to feed and lay their eggs.
Lice do not fly, but they move quickly and are passed from person to person when close contact occurs.
As it takes its course, small, red, fluid-filled blisters form on the body that, if scratched, can result in permanent scarring.
Commonly affected sites are the elbows, knees, knuckles, scalp, trunk, arms and legs, and external sex organs. Lesions appear on the scalp and may spread to the ears, forehead, and the back of the neck. There seems to be a collection of little lumps between the join of my tongue and back of my gums.
After I was referred the swelling was found to be cancerous, but I don't blame my GP for not spotting this imediately.
On the new host, lice anchor themselves onto hair shafts and bite the scalp, which they inject with saliva. Left alone, the blisters eventually dry out, usually within five to 10 days, and form scabs. Many people who have an episode of guttate psoriasis may not have another one for many years. I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about, because it's rather irritating me, I keep trying to swallow it.

I have went to 2 doctors,a dentist and an oral surgion who all have said it was due to an impacted tooth. The majority of swollen tonsils are due to an infection, and it was only when antibiotics were not effective that other reasons for the swelling were considered. Maybe it's an enlarged tonsillar tissue, although I have no tonsils, but I assume tissue gets left.
I have had the wisdom teeth removed but I still have raised bumps on the side of my tongue one of them is white.
Bascially what happend was it swelled up real bad in 1 day, so much that it was hard for me to eat. Your doctor doesn't know whether you have recovered or not, unless you go to see them, if you don't go back then they will assume that the treatment worked and you are fully recovered. They lay their eggs on the scalp next to a hair shaft, where body heat helps the eggs to incubate.
Caused by the herpes zoster virus, chickenpox spreads easily and rapidly and usually affects children younger than 10.
I still have the lump where my skin meets my tongue from teh side of my mouth and a still have a swollen gland on that side of my jaw. The rash caused by a mite infestation is called "scabies" in general cases and "crusted scabies" or "Norwegian scabies" in intense forms. Lice can also infect the pubic area (pubic lice) and the body (body lice), causing an itchy rash in those areas. 2 months later I had an ultrasound scan which - I was told- showed an enlarged lymph node - nothing else. My lymph gland was swollen all the time for 5 and a half months.Six months after my first symptoms I was undergoing 7 hrs of surgery (radical neck dissection and tonsilectomy).
From what I've read if you gland becomes swollen very quickly like it did for me more than likly it isn't cancerous. My cancer was advanced and had burst out of 2 lymph glands.I felt very ill by this stage, not surprisingly.
I have called the doc and spoke with a nurse that put me on another round of clendenmiason.
