There is a huge diet food industry out there all vying for your dollars, many of whom have very little regard for your actual long-term health.
Once all these foods have been totally destroyed by these processes they often look so disgusting that no one would eat them so they add various chemicals that to make them look and taste palatable to humans. There are natural low calorie foods such as vegetables and fruit but most foodies, although enjoying vegetables that are cooked in delicious ways, don’t want to restrict their diet to mainly vegetarian produce. My research so far has led me to believe the solution to my weight loss problems lies in totally avoiding all processed food and eating a diet with more natural food and vegetables. For this to work I have to change my whole thinking and make small changes to my life that will still allow me to remain a serious foodie and enjoy all of the things that I love.

Processed foods usually start out with real food ingredients but during the processing of them (which is why they’re called processed foods) those ingredients have all of the nutritional value totally destroyed by one of the many processes that can include bleaching, heating to extreme temperatures, freeze-drying, evaporating, hydrogenating etc.
