Nicole's Nutrition--Atlanta Registered Dietitian NutritionistThe Nutritionist who loves good food.
If you are working to achieve certain fitness or health goals it is of the utmost importance to prepare your meals (at least lunches and snacks) in advance.
After eating just 3 of these, I was so tired of these foods that I didn’t want to see them again for at least a week. Anyway, what I recommend is that if you are trying to do this, make sure to switch out the types of foods you pack. I am going to go back to what I used to do: take a part of dinner leftovers and make sure to round out the meal with the macronutrient that I am missing. All products mentioned on this site were reviewed with 100% honesty and there will be a disclosure if any compensation was received. My first several attempts at healthy-tizing meatballs were all just not good enough – the super-lean turkey or chicken would yield meatballs that were dry, chalky and kinda rubbery-tough. The second secret ingredient is silken tofu, which adds healthy protein, moistness and most importantly tenderness to the meatballs. The healthy meatballs, combined with the world-famous Marcella Hazan tomato sauce recipe makes an easy dinner that comes together in about 30 minutes. To make the sauce, in a large saute pan or soup pot, add the crushed tomatoes, onion and butter.
I have found that using rolled oats spun briefly in a blender instead of other grain products makes the most tender meatballs. I always enjoy your posts, and great food recipes, and love your way of cooking, but I’m really not a tofu fan. Thanks for your recipe, I just made your healthy spaghetti meatballs and both my sons love it! Whether it's Meatless Monday or not, a quick and easy vegetarian casserole recipe is always a nice healthy dinner option on busy school evenings.
This easy vegetarian casserole recipe is a great way to sneak healthy vegetables into your family's diet. By janet I’ve put together this collection of 20+ Quick Family Meal Ideas as part of a sponsored post for Foodie.
You all know I’m not much of a cook in the kitchen so when I do cook, I need something quick, easy, delicious, and healthy.
You might remember when I made these fish taco lettuce wraps and they were a hit with Benjamin, but Howard is not a fan of tuna so we usually substitute in some taco meat or ground turkey.
I asked on Facebook for a few recipe ideas and my sister told me about this slow cooker recipe: Take 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, a package of taco seasoning and a jar of your favorite salsa.
Another friend of mine posted this recipe: Take a pack of boneless country style pork ribs, salt and pepper, a jar of kimchi. But I just had to put together a Foodie board of the other ideas that were sent my way and a few more that I found while looking around on Foodie.
That way you can make sure you meet your protein, carbohydrate, and fat goals for the day (and of course, get overall good nutrition).
All that fatty richness goes straight to my backside and sometimes I just want a lighter version of meatballs.

It has a natural neutral flavor – and just takes on the flavor of all of the other ingredients in the recipe. If you do have regular cornflake cereal, you can just put them in a bag and smash them until they become small crumbs.
You can also use quick cooking oats but they have been processed a lot so I tend to use the less processed. Here are 4 easy vegetarian casserole recipes perfect for kids, crowds and tired, hungry mommies. I’ve been telling Howard lately that we need to start meal planning and I want to take a night or two to make dinner. What I mean by that is that I have found out that I hate to have the same exact lunch for more than 3 days straight.
An added bonus is that you know the meal will be healthier and you will stay fuller, AND your wallet will thank you. And the bad part is that the broccoli starts to smell terrible after a few days due to the sulfur components releasing into the container. And then switch out your proteins with beans, fish, turkey, egg, and whatever else you like. Grating the onion on the large holes of a grater releases all of the flavor and moisture in the onion. The great thing about silken tofu is that you literally cannot tell that it’s in there! The tomato sauce recipe is from the famous Italian American cooking teacher, Marcella Hazan, who only uses 3 ingredients: crushed tomatoes, half an onion and butter. I used a package of Silken tofu and mixed it with a half container of Tofutti sour cream, a few cloves of garlic and mixed it in my Braun hand mixer and added it to a pan of sauted onion, yellow squash, mushrooms and bell peppers I then added a splash of dry white, a bay leaf and salt and pepper and served it over penne pasta. She usually starts her sauce about 9 or 10 in the morning and lets it simmer til about 5 or 6 in the evening. Made some cheese infused meatballs the other day but after 4-5 of them I felt sick, far far too fatty! I am learning how to have fun with my family through Family Fun activities, Crazy Crafts for Kids, and more! A little over 30 minutes to make but well worth it for the bold flavors and low calorie count of 222 calories a serving! This past Sunday morning I stood in our church watching the colorful lights bounce around the ceiling, musicians playing their instruments on stage, and worship music flash across the big screen. Just snuggle in the tender meatballs into the slowly simmering tomato pasta sauce to cook gently.
The photos look gorgeous and I find it very helpful that you shared the secret ingredients. I'm also sharing my family's story of weight loss and my own story of depression and anxiety. I wonder if you could tell me…can you cook mushrooms like you cook the meatballs here?
The onion that is cooked in the tomato sauce will be removed once the sauce is cooked - the onion will have transferred all its flavors into the sauce! Thanks for the recipe and hope things are okay now at your household after a sad week, Jaden !

I felt like the past month or so, God just up and left me and all the things I felt he had promised were forgotten.
I take on the problems of other people and make them my own, then try to solve everything in MY OWN strength. One morning he felt called to send me a youtube video of the song Just Be Held by Casting Crowns.  As I listened to it tears just started to stream down my face. Then God used Mike to drop this song on my lap like a present with a big red bow on it.Just be Held.
