The Learning Teacher Network organises an International Seminar on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Istanbul, Turkey on September 26-27, 2014. Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) allows every human being to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary to shape a sustainable future. How can ESD guide students to have the knowledge, skills and values to care for, and solve the sustainable development issues that will arise in their lifetime? This international seminar primarily targets colleagues in education, training and youth who have previous experience of - and work with - elements of ESD (Education for sustainable development) in policy or their teaching and training practice. The World Conference on ESD in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan in November 2014 will outline the continuation of the Decade by a new Global Action Programme on ESD from 2015. Today I posted a blog asking you to help us carry out Franke James's art exhibitions in Europe . Jaipur: Commemorating World Youth Skills Day on July 15, Aide et Action, an international NGO working in the education sector, launched a mobile app “iDreams” which offers an opportunity to all the android users to help the youth from less privileged backgrounds to get trained to enhance their employability skills by referring them to their Skill Development programme “iLEAD”. 114 53 0 2 12 47 0 0 0 0I read something the other day that said most people don’t understand what global warming is.
In the spirit of bringing a little awareness back to our precious planet, I thought I would write a short article about global warming and include some simple action steps we can take to help combat it. Although it may seem like as individuals we have an itty-bitty impact, together we can really make a big difference. To combat this change, we are going to have to start getting our energy from clean energy sources instead of from burning fossil fuels. However, as individuals, there are some things that we can do to make a difference in our daily lives. Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education & Human Resource Development Mrs. He said employment needs should direct education and training and the development of competencies and abilities to detect both present and future priority areas for economic growth.

Education Minister Honourable Petter Saint Jean appointed the new TVET Council earlier this year, charged with developing a progressive and prescriptive framework within which to certify, to international standards, the competence and productive capacities of Dominica’s workforce. The ten-member council consists of; Eddison Henry (Chairman), Stevenson Astaphan (Vice Chairman), Merrill Matthew (Secretary), Matthew Leblanc (Public Relations Officer), Celia Nicholas, Kertist Augustus, Jeffrey Baptiste, Martin Allen, Stephenson Hyacinth and Rawle Leslie. The Global Partnership for Sustainable Tourism is a global initiative launched in 2011 to inject sustainability principles into the mainstream of tourism policies, development, and operations. The Global Partnership aims to make tourism more sustainable by partnering with governments, destinations, enterprises and consumers in the tourism supply chain to implement projects that are innovative and transformative. The mission of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Tourism is to develop partnerships based on sustainable tourism principles to support the adoption of clear policies and management practices, share knowledge and experience and implement innovative and transformative projets with the aim of scaling up sustainable tourism practices, worldwide. Our blog posts are a compilation of data (where we always provide the source(s) at the end of the post, or opinion pieces from one of our volunteers (in which case there is a by-line). The launch took place in around 70 centers across south Asia including India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. We are dedicatedly looking through all the tips submitted and pick the things we feel will appeal to our audience.
More importantly than that though, for me personally, when I start going down that road of thinking where I convince myself that I can’t make a change, at that point, I lose hope. There is no doubt now that the change is already taking place, and if we don’t modify our behavior, we will see more of this in the future. Did you know that by using a hair dryer, heating up food in the microwave and using a dishwasher, we are adding more greenhouse gases into the air? Chandler Hyacinth, has pledged the Ministry’s support, for the efforts of the newly formed Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council (TVETC), to develop the local workforce for economic growth.
It emerged as a more permanent successor to the International Task Force on Sustainable Tourism Development (ITF-STD). As the global clearinghouse for sustainable tourism projects, the Global Partnership will support its inscribed partners in undertaking actions that promote the implementation of policies, planning and private sector investments and management practices which mainstream sustainability in this vital and growing economic sector. By interactive discussions among the participants the seminar will discuss key issues that bridge the Decade for Education for Sustainable Development to UNESCO’s forthcoming Global Action Programme.

We come from different backgrounds, and English is not the first language for any of us, so there might be an occasional language flop :). I mean, how can our actions (meaning the actions of a few people) make any significant difference when it comes to the earth’s climate?
If you would like a more sophisticated explanation about this topic, you might find this article on National Geographic called What Is Global Warming interesting.
The Secretariat is hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme, Division of Technology, Industry, and Economics (UNEP-DTIE).
If you are using any of our content - it would be really great if you can link it back to us, and if you are using other people's content that you found on our website, please make sure to copy the source links we provided.
Too much of this type of gas is detrimental to the environment and causes it to get too hot.
Also, here is a link to an MSNBC article from a few days ago about some new discoveries regarding wind and its effects on global warming. Global warming is the phrase used to describe the impact on the earth that happens when people add too much of this type of gas into the air.
Below are a few fun charts that illustrate the impact of global warming and some simple action steps we all can take. The earth’s climate has changed before in history, but never this fast, never with this many negative consequences, and never before directly caused by people.
